Substance Painter natively supports the export ofGL albeit through the Export Textures function, not Export Model. It may export with materials set to Alpha Blend by default. This can be fixed in another 3D app like Blender if that is the case and reset to Opaque, depending on your situation.
Use the OpenGL setting for Normals. WebGL is related to OpenGL and uses the same normals system.
Second. make sure your texture colors channels are using linear color scale. By default they are โsRGB8โ. If you donโt change this and export, your base color in particular will look too dark! Change all color channels from โsRGB8โ to โRGB8โ.
Click File > Export Textures.
From the Config drop-down menu, select glTF PBR Metal Roughness.
Choose the location where you want to save your textures.
Choose a document size to determine how large the texture files will be.
Tip Usually textures don't need to be larger than 2048 x 2048 px. Use 1024 x 1024 px where possible to reduce the total file size significantly.
Click Export.
When you have exported the model, you should have the following files:
modelName.bin
modelName.glb
modelName.gltf
modelNamebaseColor.png
modelNamenormal.png
modelName_occlusionRoughnessMetallic.png
When using the glTF PBR Metal Roughness configuration, Substance Painter exports texture files only in PNG format. Consider compressing the texture files and converting any textures that don't need an alpha channel to a JPG. This reduces the total file size, and smaller file sizes allow for quicker download speeds and smoother interactions.
A Substance produced .gltf may have all materials with alpha transparency and normals flipped. This is a bug in Substance Painter's output. Use Blender to import and set materials to Opaque.
